 Once upon a swipe… Edgar and Tiana met on a little app called Tinder (don’t judge, it worked!). Their first conversation started in December 2017, right after Tiana graduated college—young, hopeful, and still believing dating apps were full of possibilities. The spark fizzled after about a week, and they went their separate ways.

Fast-forward a few months: after several “what was I thinking?” dates on Tiana’s end (and absolutely no explanation from Edgar about what he was doing during this time, she decided to give Tinder another whirl—and this time, messaged Edgar again. Expectations were low. Confidence was lower. But hey, sometimes you just need one last swipe of fate!

After about a week of chatting, Edgar asked Tiana out on a first date to Flowing Tide in Sparks, NV, on May 26, 2018. Edgar showed up early (points for punctuality) and was already seated when Tiana arrived. She could tell he was nervous and shy—adorably so—and it totally worked in his favor. By the end of the night, Edgar asked her out again, and Tiana, charmed and intrigued, said yes.

Their early dates were filled with fun surprises: Tiana’s sister crashing date number two (for quality control purposes, obviously), the infamous rose bush incident that Edgar still proudly brings up, and an unexpected case of appendicitis for Edgar. (Yes, he really committed to the “pain and love” thing early on.) The best part? Tiana accidentally chest-bumped him post-surgery in a moment of excitement. Don’t worry—he survived, and now retells the story at every possible opportunity.

That hospital adventure led to an early introduction to Edgar’s family, who welcomed Tiana with warmth, laughter, and open arms. She instantly felt like part of the crew.

After 5 years, 50 weeks, and 5 days (but who’s counting?) of love, laughter, and shared snacks, Edgar proposed to Tiana on the stunning—and mosquito-packed—Island of Saona in the Dominican Republic on May 17, 2024.

Now, after years of adventures, inside jokes, and stories that will definitely be told at the reception, they can’t wait to say “I do” on October 3, 2026, surrounded by the people who’ve supported and loved them along the way.

Érase una vez… un desliz.
Edgar y Tiana se conocieron en una pequeña aplicación llamada Tinder (¡no juzguen, funcionó!). Su primera conversación comenzó en diciembre de 2017, justo después de que Tiana se graduara de la universidad—joven, esperanzada y todavía creyendo que las apps de citas estaban llenas de posibilidades. La chispa se apagó después de una semana, y cada uno siguió su camino.

Avancemos unos meses: después de varias citas del tipo “¿en qué estaba pensando?” por parte de Tiana (y sin ninguna explicación por parte de Edgar sobre lo que hacía durante ese tiempo), ella decidió darle otra oportunidad a Tinder—y esta vez, le volvió a mandar un mensaje a Edgar. Las expectativas eran bajas. La confianza, aún más. Pero bueno, ¡a veces solo hace falta un último desliz del destino!

Después de una semana de mensajes, Edgar invitó a Tiana a su primera cita en Flowing Tide en Sparks, Nevada, el 26 de mayo de 2018. Edgar llegó temprano (punto a favor por la puntualidad) y ya estaba sentado cuando Tiana llegó. Ella notó que él estaba nervioso y tímido—adorablemente tímido—y eso, sin duda, jugó a su favor. Al final de la noche, Edgar la volvió a invitar a salir, y Tiana, encantada y curiosa, aceptó.

Sus primeras citas estuvieron llenas de sorpresas: la hermana de Tiana se coló en la segunda cita (por razones de control de calidad, obviamente), el infame incidente del rosal que Edgar aún recuerda con orgullo, y un inesperado caso de apendicitis de Edgar. (Sí, se tomó muy en serio eso de “dolor y amor” desde el principio). ¿Lo mejor? Tiana, en un momento de emoción, lo chocó con el pecho justo después de la cirugía. No se preocupen—sobrevivió, y ahora cuenta la historia en cada oportunidad posible.

Esa aventura hospitalaria llevó a una presentación temprana con la familia de Edgar, quien recibió a Tiana con calidez, risas y los brazos abiertos. Ella se sintió parte de la familia desde el primer momento.

Después de 5 años, 50 semanas y 5 días (pero, ¿quién está contando?) de amor, risas y bocadillos compartidos, Edgar le propuso matrimonio a Tiana en la hermosa—y llena de mosquitos—Isla Saona, en la República Dominicana, el 17 de mayo de 2024.

Ahora, después de años de aventuras, bromas internas y anécdotas que sin duda se contarán en la recepción, no pueden esperar para decir “sí, acepto” el 3 de octubre de 2026, rodeados de las personas que los han apoyado y amado a lo largo del camino.
